The Coastal Adventures series will be shorter in duration to attract a new generation of explorers, and with experiences designed to appeal to active guests seeking access to pristine and remote natural places, and with the freedom to explore and choose daily activities at one's own pace.
The line-up of destinations for the series will include Tasmania first up, with several four- and six-night voyages in Tasmania commencing from January 4, 2026, then expanding to include four-night Great Barrier Reef itineraries as well as six-night explorations of Margaret River and the awe-inspiring shores of southwestern Australia from October 2026.
Guests travelling on these wilderness voyages will have the opportunity to truly connect with fellow adventurers and with the natural environment, with full days spent in special landscapes. The itineraries will be relaxed and flexible, allowing guests to choose from a variety of options. Coral Expeditions' expert guides will be on hand to lead nature walks and aquatic activities, and the ship will serve as a stage for indulgence, enjoyment, and relaxation.
In Tasmania, guests will discover more remote destinations away from the tourist trail, including Adventure Bay and Bruny Island, Maria Island and Wineglass Bay. In Queensland, guests will venture into extraordinary places such as Sudbury Cay, Hinchinbrook Island, Yamacutta Reef, and Dunk Island National Park. On the West Australian coast, guests will explore Busselton, Margaret River, Cape Naturaliste and Augusta.
Guests onboard will be able to experience a swag of great activities, from nature walks in national parks and on pristine beaches, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding to snorkel and dive adventures, self-guided walks and shopping in local townships as all-inclusive experiences as well as being offered optional experiences in destinations like scenic flights, food and wine trail tours or cycle hire. After the sun sets, dark sky nocturnal experiences, including guided star gazing and wildlife spotting, offer a wonderful way to wrap up a day's exploring.
Cuisine onboard these itineraries will take centre stage and be a part of the adventure, with galleys sourcing both produce and beverages from local regions visited on the voyage and celebrating seasonal tastes and fresh produce. Each voyage will kick off with a memorable sailaway soiree event, while a seafood and barbecue night will feature the very best of local produce with a relaxed Australian style.
Menus are fully prepared onboard and are inspired by the best local produce from the region, with a focus on fresh, healthy and contemporary cuisine with live service stations and access to fine local wines and fresh juices to accompany. Relaxed and flexibility in dining times will be offered with breakfast opening from 7 – 9.30am and dinner from 6.30-8.30pm in a café dining atmosphere. Adventurer meal packs are offered to take ashore as a picnic style option for those wishing to maximise on shore adventures.
Coral Expeditions Chief Executive Officer Mark Fifield said the Coastal Adventures series offers a new, more modern style of product for the line, while retaining the core values of the company's roots and where it all began 40 years ago.
“It opens up a wonderful opportunity for busy working professionals, couples, solo travellers and even families to play, escape, unwind and enrich in some of our favourite places, with shorter adventures that appeal to both new explorers as well as our seasoned young at heart guests” Mr Fifield said.
“Exploring coastlines by small ship is an unrivalled experience – much like staying at the very best wilderness lodge but with the bonus of waking each day at a different destination,” he said.
