Energy consumption is minimised through reduced HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and lighting policies during set-up, tear-down, event breaks, and overnight downtime. The resort also provides reusable service ware to reduce reliance on disposables. Event spaces at InterContinental Halong Bay Resort include the Tonkin Grand Ballroom, a pillarless, state-of-the-art space accommodating up to 1,050 guests theatre-style, 810 for receptions, or 680 for banquets. The Cat Ba Ballroom, located on the 6th floor, is framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the space with natural light and can accommodate up to 252 guests theatre-style or 160 for banquets.
